Vineet has a rich experience of 25+ years across Operations and Management Consulting in India, USA, and Middle East. His passion for serving the financial excluded segment and strategic thinking has enabled both Svatantra Microfin and Svatantra Micro Housing map out an accelerated, differentiated, and sustainable growth path to emerge as amongst the most impactful and respected entities in their own arena.
Vineet firmly believes that an organization can sustainably grow, only if it creates a meaningful difference in the lives of its customers and this can be achieved by aligning all the 3 Ps of business i.e. ‘People, Product, and Processes’ with customers’ needs.
A continuous learner, Vineet is a chemical engineering graduate and a post post-graduate in Business Administration and is currently pursuing post-graduation in Business Laws. He has attended executive program in The Wharton School. Currently serving as MFIN’s Vice-Chairperson.
Vrushali Mahajan
Chief Financial Officer
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Vrushali has over 19 years of experience in the banking sector along with other service industries. Her expertise lies in accounting, taxation, regulatory compliances and audits, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting and management reporting. Vrushali worked as the Financial Controller at Ratnakar Bank before joining Svatantra.

Senior President and Group Head- Human Resource
Kranti brings in more than 23 years of rich work experience in the field of Human Resources with diverse industries spread across India, Asia, America, UK and other geographies. As a passionate HR professional she has been at the helm of building and developing organisations, aligned with the larger business goals. In her erstwhile profile she was associated with reputed companies in the field of IT & IT Services, Consulting & Transformation Services, Biotechnology & Diagnostics, Institutional Equities & Investment Banking. Before embarking the journey with Svatantra, she was with Suryoday Micro Finance Pvt Ltd. as Associate Vice President - Human Resources
Sahil Mehta
Senior President–Corporate Finance
Spearheading Fund Mobilisation and Treasury at Svatantra, Sahil holds a PG Diploma in Development Management from IIFM, Bhopal. With 8 years of experience, he has been in the microfinance sector for the past five years. Prior to joining Svatantra, he worked at GrameenKoota, Axis Bank, and the Trident Group. His last assignment was with the corporate finance division at S V Creditline Pvt. Ltd.
Surinder Kumar Bhatia
Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer
A qualified Company Secretary with an LLB Degree, Surinder has over 20 years of experience in the legal and secretarial domain. Prior to joining Svatantra, he worked at DLF Limited, Moser Baer and Magnum Power Generation. His last assignment was with S V Creditline Pvt. Ltd., a microfinance company, where he worked for five years as a Company Secretary, ensuring the secretarial and RBI Compliances.
Pranay Singh
Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Pranay’s love for database is the core of his career choice. Likes to classify himself as a process oriented Engineer, has more than two decades of experience in the area of Service Operations, Project Management and Implementation. Travelled exhaustively in and around Asian & African Countries for various technology initiatives to streamline business process. Has in-depth knowledge about Banking and Finance domain, and has been a key resource in core technical project implementation and execution.
Vikas Kalibaug
Vice President – Risk
Vikas is a Chartered Accountant with over 14 years of experience in the Internal Audit and Risk Management profile across various industries such as Shipping, Ports, Telecom, Manufacturing and Microfinance sector. He has worked with Aditya Birla Group for close to 12 years in the Corporate Audit function prior to joining team Svatantra. Vikas is passionate about Internal Audits, Risk Management, Process Manuals, and Improvements Projects. He has worked across multiple geographies and cultures in North American, European, African, Far East and South Asian countries including India for his assignments. Absolute detailing and continuous improvements is his mantra.
Umang Shah
Vice President - Information Technology
An initiator and tech passionate persona define Umang. He is an electrical engineer with an MBA from the Welingkar Institute of Management Studies, and a management certification from the renowned IIM Calcutta. Umang is an advocate for design thinking to overcome challenges and elevate customer experience. Prior to joining Svatantra team, he managed Corp's digital business at Aditya Birla Management and led digital transformation and change management so as to enable company achieve significant business value through the use of technology. He has also worked as an initiator of key technology with conglomerates such as New Work New Culture (Michigan) and Reliance Power. For Umang’s diligent contribution, he has been recognized by the prestigious NEXT 100 team and awarded as Distinguished Achiever at Aditya Birla Awards 2022.

Shashikant Solaskar
Deputy Vice President – Information Security
With over 15 years of experience in Information Technology, Shashikant joined Svatantra Microfin with a vision to streamline and strengthen Information Security process of the company. His role in Svatantra is to establish and maintain Information Security strategy, business continuity, and compliance. Prior to this he worked as a Solution Architect with Birla Management Centre Services Ltd (BMCSL) and implemented initiatives in the areas of IT security. The job involved identifying new technologies to enable business to address emerging or latest threats. He is a certified ISO 27001:2013 lead auditor. In his personal capacity, he enjoys photography, trekking and long drive.
